Marine canvas design

In my marine canvas design work, I focus on bridging traditional craftsmanship with modern digital tools. By leveraging Rhino 7, ExactFlat, and 3D scanning, I create precise, custom biminis, covers, and enclosures. My process streamlines production, improves fit and durability, and ensures every design meets the highest standards for both function and aesthetics.
Motivated
At Great Water Upholstery, I was driven by the challenge of transforming complex marine canvas and seating designs into efficient, repeatable production systems. Self-taught in Rhino and MPanel, I developed precise 3D models and workflows that improved accuracy and reduced waste. Motivated to streamline every step, I created clear SOPs for myself and other upholstery shops. Turning craftsmanship into a structured, scalable process that elevated both quality and speed.

Innovative
Driven by innovation in every project, I reimagined the entire SeaDek design process. By developing automated workflows and Rhino 7 scripts, I transformed cumbersome data capture and modeling tasks from hours into minutes. These tools not only improved CAD accuracy but also eliminated repetitive manual steps. Reducing human error and enabling upholstery shops to deliver precise, high-quality results faster than ever before.

Experienced
With hands on experience in marine canvas design, I’ve worked on some of the most demanding projects in the industry. From traditional plastic patterning to advanced 3D point capture using the Proliner, I’ve refined every stage of the process to deliver precision and reliability. My work on biminis and custom covers reflects a deep understanding of both craftsmanship and digital fabrication bridging traditional techniques with cutting edge software like ExactFlat.
